WAREHOUSE MANAGER

We are conducting a search for a Warehouse Manager for our client, a consumer products company based in Nassau County, NY.  You will be responsible for all aspects of a 30,000 square foot facility, including PICK AND PACK, B2B, managing receiving, shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations.  The business is SKU intensive and B2B and PICK AND PACK is required.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, sophisticated, “lead by example” professional who will willingly roll up their sleeves when necessary while exhibiting a significant work ethic.  Experience effectively leading a warehouse team, working collaboratively, conversant in WMS systems, and true leadership qualities are essential.  Decision-making ability, problem solving, and excellent communication skills are mandatory.

The salary range for this role is approximately 100-125k.

Responsibilities:

  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Ensure product is stored and recorded in proper locations for order process
  • Maintain inventory of and order all production supplies
  • Manage a team of 30 – 40; review and lead while holding accountable
  • Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Negotiate rates with common carrier representatives, international shipping companies, and production supply companies
  • Supervise and schedule production line for optimal output
  • Coordinate and determine delivery of all inbound freight between warehouses
  • Manage transfer of product between warehouses based on order requirement
  • Work with Sales & Import Dept. to ensure on time customer shipping
  • Maintain knowledge of customer routing guides for customer shipping requirements
  • Oversee Customer Service, Order Process, and Billing departments
  • Continually adapt warehouse layout to ensure efficient space utilization of Facilities/Building Maintenance
  • Review and approve all Operational Invoices for payment
  • Learn and continually re-educate on ever-changing Vendor Shipping Requirements
  • Work with Accounting Department to dispute Chargebacks due to alleged discrepancies in Vendor Shipping Guidelines

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years as a Warehouse Manager
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Experience with Pick and Pack
  • Experience with Business 2 Business
  • Previous experience with WMS software
  • Previous experience with EDI and UPC bar codes
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership
  • Must be a good team player
  • Computer experience, ideally with Microsoft products
  • MUST be very flexible with shift start times as well as days worked, including weekends & holiday
  • Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
