ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Contemporary Sportswear

We are seeking a talented and motivated associate designer to join the Scotch & Soda design team. This role will support the Senior Sportswear Designer in building the collection from concept through production. We are looking for candidates with experience in soft wovens, tailoring and cut + sew knits.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Create b/w technical sketches, detailed tech packs and trim sheets following designer instructions.
  • Assist designers in design process, trend research, sourcing fabrics and more as needed while understanding target customer and price point.
  • Responsible for production and development approval process working alongside senior designer and design director: labdips, fabric and yarn submits, trim submits, bulk fabric approvals and more as needed. Communicating comments to overseas factories and keeping organized logs.
  • Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar
  • Assist in maintaining linesheets, and style overviews for each season
  • Sample and fabric coordination, tracking and requests

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel design with a focus on women’s sportswear (wovens, tailoring, cut & sew knits, sweaters)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience
  • Thorough knowledge of fabric, garment construction and specs
  • Must be highly proficient in: Photoshop, Illustrator &  Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Simparel knowledge is a plus

SALARY: $65,000 - $75,000, DOE
